ABOUT THE ARTIST — MARK CARRINGTON

Mark Carrington is a South Coast-based contemporary artist whose work combines the energy of street art and graffiti with pop culture, typography, bold colour and mixed-media techniques.

His distinctive style brings together familiar cultural imagery with expressive hand-painted details, creating vibrant contemporary artworks and collectable sculptures designed to make an immediate visual impact.

Mark's work draws inspiration from graffiti culture, comic books, music, fashion and everyday life.

Rather than simply reproducing familiar imagery, he reinterprets these influences through his own artistic style, creating individual artworks with their own character and personality.

A defining feature of Mark's work is the fact that his artworks are hand-finished individually.

His he paints each artwork by hand, meaning that no two pieces are identical.

Mark Carrington currently has featured art works through The Brighton Box Art Gallery in Brighton, East Sussex, where his original artworks and sculptures are available to collectors also.

The Brighton Box describes itself as a gallery showcasing original and collectable art, with a particular focus on contemporary artists and local creative talent.

Mark Carrington is included among the gallery's featured artists.

At the time of this listing, The Brighton Box's Mark Carrington collection includes a selection of original works and sculptures..

His current gallery listings include original 1/1 sculptures such as "Fabulous Bear", a 70cm-tall signed original sculpture, and "Mario 'Pixel Rebel'", a 52cm original 1/1 sculpture. These works demonstrate the same approach of combining sculptural forms with Mark's distinctive hand-finished contemporary urban-art style.

# MORE ABOUT THIS COLLABORATION

The project began at **The Filament Factory**, where we produced the physical sculpture.

The completed raw sculpture was then handed over to **Mark Carrington**, who transformed the piece through his distinctive artistic approach.

Mark's artwork incorporates bold colour, graphic elements, typography, currency imagery, street-art influences and extensive hand-applied detailing.

The result is a completely individual finished artwork that could not be reproduced exactly.

The physical sculpture and the artwork therefore come together as a genuine collaboration:

**The Filament Factory**

sculpture / production

**Mark Carrington**

Original artwork / hand finishing

# ORIGINAL ARTWORK

One of the unique aspects of this piece is the transformation it went through.

The sculpture began in raw form produced by The Filament Factory.

Mark Carrington then used the physical sculpture as his canvas.

Colour, imagery and detail were added until the original sculpture was transformed into the finished artwork shown in the photographs.

We will include photographs showing the sculpture **before and after the artistic process**, allowing the collector to see the transformation.
